Urban Exploration or ‘Urbexing’ is exploration of manmade structures – predominantly abandoned or derelict buildings. This talk will introduce you Urban Exploration, aimed at novices who want to start or those just curious about the practicalities of the hobby. Among other things I’ll cover how to prepare, what to bring, how to scout and find locations and a frank discussion of the legality and safety (or lackthereof). The latter two points especially, much as I enjoy Urbexing I think it's important that anyone seeing this stuff on social media has a realistic view of what's involved and how when things do go wrong it's really not funny. The talk will dip in and out of explores I've done over the years to give practical examples ranging from derelict Australian Power Plants to spending 36 hours in the Paris Catacombs.
