Build a Wearable with Paper Circuitry and Bela Mini

A workshop from EMF 2018 by Becky Stewart

On Saturday September 1, 2018 at in Workshop 1

In this workshop you will make a functioning, interactive wearable tech project using Bela Mini and paper circuitry. Bela is an embedded computing platform for interactive audio projects that can be programmed using Pure Data, a visual language designed for audio. You will learn how to program in Pure Data and work with circuits using paper craft to realise their own wearable project ideas.

No previous experience with coding or electronics will be necessary. We will teach the basics of working with Pure Data and the Bela Mini drawing from our open-source collection of Pure Data code and paper circuitry and sensor designs.

This workshop is part of a Queen Mary University of London research project looking at what digital physical tools best support creative physical computing projects. We will provide all materials and Bela Mini kits for use during the workshops.
