The Art of the Taco

A workshop from EMF 2018 by Simon Bedford

Mexican food is becoming more and more popular in the UK and the range of restaurant options is expanding, particularly in large cities. However, it is almost certainly true that most people have never had the life-changing experience of tasting a truly authentic Mexican taco. Furthermore, I would imagine that most people would never think of attempting to make one at home, despite the fact that it is such a simple dish.

As a keen home-cook, who has lived in Mexico for the past 10 years, I am hoping to share this experience with people with a passion for trying new things.

I will explain a little behind the theory of what makes a good taco, as well as introduce people to the core elements and constituents.

This will primarily be a sensory experience where people will be able to compare "good" vs. "bad" ingredients, and learn the basics of putting together a simple but delicious taco.
