GameDome - Retro Rivalry

The GameDome is a playful, tech‑free sanctuary celebrating the analogue brilliance of traditional pub and bar games from across the world.

Step inside the geodesic dome and you’ll find a curated mix of local legends and global favourites: the Worcestershire classic Evesham Quoits, the satisfyingly clunky Toad‑in‑the‑Hole, the smooth‑sliding precision of Dutch Sjoelen and British Shove Ha'penny, and the fast‑paced flick‑and‑strike strategy of Indian Carrom. Each game will be built by the members of the Surrey and Hampshire Makerspace.

All are tactile, mostly made from the original carbon fibre, wood, and gloriously physical — no screens, no apps, no firmware updates( we hope ).

}The installation invites EMF Camp visitors to rediscover the simple magic of shared play: the friendly rivalry, the triumphant clatter of a perfect shot, the collective groan when someone misses by a whisker. Whether you’re a seasoned pub‑games nerd or a curious passer‑by, the Game Dome will offer a warm, social, retro‑futurist escape where the only thing you need to reboot is your aim.

We also hope to be able to offer a limited supply of Club-Mate brewed by one of our members.
