Teletext Insertomatic 6000 + FPGA Teletext Decoder
By Nick Schollar
The Insertomatic 6000 is a 6-channel TV signal generator with teletext capabilities. A variety of modern hobby teletext services carrying a range of information and artwork are available on the internet and this device generates a cable television network carrying six of these services. Four of these channels use the video outputs of four Raspberry Pis, and two of these channels use inserter hardware to add the teletext signal to composite video sources, which could come from a digital TV receiver, PVR or camera. A TV is provided so you can browse all the different services.
The FPGA Teletext Decoder is a custom FPGA board which runs a teletext decoder written in VHDL with HDMI output. This board has a composite video input and can be connected to any device which produces composite video with a standard teletext signal embedded in it, such as a digital satellite receiver or Raspberry Pi.
