A Nixie Clock

A desk clock using Nixie tubes for the display. Nixie tubes provide easily readable digits illuminated with a friendly orange glow.

Nixie tubes were commonly used for numerical displays on electronic equipment from the 1950's to early 1970's before LEDs were invented and became affordable. This clock uses a blend of old and new technologies - 1950's Nixie tubes, a modern microcontroller for timekeeping and operation. All housed in a laser cut arcrylic case.
